CHAMP posts wins on PGA, LPGA and Nationwide tours

CHAMPMARLBOROUGH, Mass. (September 10, 2003) - For the second time in three weeks, CHAMP spikes were worn by winners on the PGA, LPGA and Nationwide tours. At the Bell Canadian Open on the PGA Tour and at the Envirocare Utah Classic on the Nationwide Tour, the winners wore CHAMP 6mm Cer-Mec(TM) spikes, while the winner of the John Q. Hammons Hotel Classic on the LPGA Tour used CHAMP ScorpionSpikes(TM). These victories marked the 39th, 40th and 41st wins for CHAMP spikes in 2003 on the PGA, LPGA and Nationwide tours.

On the PGA Tour, CHAMP visited the winner's circle for the 19th time this year at the Bell Canadian Open. Overall, 59 golfers wore CHAMP spikes, with 41 wearing CHAMP 6mm Cer-Mec and other metal spikes, 16 wearing CHAMP ScorpionSpikes and two wearing CHAMP TRAC(TM) spikes. CHAMP spikes were also on the shoes of the winners of the last three PGA Tour tournaments: Deutsche Bank Championship, the WGC-NEC Invitational and the Reno Tahoe Open.

At the Envirocare Utah Classic, CHAMP posted its fifth victory of the season. Overall, 60 golfers at the Enivirocare Utah Classic wore CHAMP spikes, with 37 wearing CHAMP ScorpionSpikes and 23 wearing CHAMP 6mm Cer-Mec and other metal spikes.

CHAMP ScorpionSpikesOn the LPGA Tour, CHAMP ScorpionSpikes posted its 27th victory in the last 32 events at the John Q. Hammons Hotel Classic by nine shots. In addition, 13 of the 14 golfers who finished in the top 10 (including ties) wore CHAMP spikes, with 11 of those golfers wearing CHAMP ScorpionSpikes, one wearing CHAMP Scorpion Stinger spikes and one wearing CHAMP 6mm Cer-Mec spikes. Overall, 124 golfers or 86 percent of the field wore CHAMP golf spikes, with 85 wearing CHAMP ScorpionSpikes, 27 wearing CHAMP Scorpion Stinger spikes and 12 wearing CHAMP 6mm Cer-Mec and other metal spikes. Dating back to last year, CHAMP has won every spike count on the LPGA Tour.

Recently, CHAMP ScorpionSpikes placed No. 1 in GolfTest USA's independent tests of soft golf spikes. The CHAMP ScorpionSpike was awarded the highest overall score of 8.9 against all competing brands in the soft golf spike category after rigorous testing for quality, ease of cleaning, traction, clogging, and durability (http://www.golftestusa.com/spikes.html).
