New York - September 15, 2008: José Luis Clerc, one of Argentina's most recognized and revered professional tennis players, has signed on as a consultant and partner for the development and construction of Algodon Wine Estates' Tennis Center and Clerc Tennis Academy in San Rafael, Mendoza. Clerc will provide general management for the center and will play an instrumental role in shaping the Academy's goal to attract top world players and international tournaments. In addition to his partnership with Algodon on the Tennis Academy, Clerc will also act as brand ambassador, working to promote all Algodon properties, including the exclusive 10-suite Algodon Mansion expected to open early 2009 in Buenos Aires.
"At Algodon Wine Estates we are determined to create one of Argentina's top Tennis Centers, equipped with the latest in technology and facilities, in line with world-class standards. Jose Luis Clerc's experience and qualifications will bring an unprecedented level of expertise to the project, and we are thrilled to be working with someone of his caliber", says Scott Mathis, Chairman and founder of InvestProperty Group (IPG) and DPEC Partners.
Surrounded by half-century-old olive trees and vineyards, Algodon Wine Estates' Tennis Center will include a clubhouse, locker-room facilities, pro tennis shop, and a large-scale pool. The clubhouse restaurant will feature balcony dining on a patio overlooking the center court stadium, which will be lowered for unobstructed panoramic views from above. The Tennis Center will offer a total of eleven championship courts, including seven clay courts (counting the center stadium), three hard courts, and one grass court.
