MARATHON, Florida Keys -- The ninth annual Keys Boogie is set to jump into action Thursday through Sunday, Nov. 9-12, in Marathon. The skydiving festival is hosted by Skydive Sebastian of Sebastian, Fla.

Skydivers have come to regard jumps over the Keys as among the most visually stirring experiences available.

Lots of lift capacity is planned with a Super Otter, Twin Otter, Pac 750 and helicopter set to carry jumpers aloft. The helicopter jump is a unique experience because it gives skydivers the true sensation of falling straight down, rather than "flying" from a moving airplane.

Beach jumps are planned for landings at Sombrero Beach in Marathon.

Tandem jumps for beginners are to be offered and can include a professionally shot video of the jump.

Experienced skydivers can join a 24-way RW group jump. Free fly and wing suit jumps also are to be offered.

A C license and flotation device are required of all skydivers.

The festival's renowned Saturday night party is to take place poolside at Sombrero Resort and Marina, mile marker 50 oceanside in Marathon.

Registration is $45 per person until Oct. 15, or $65 with an event T-shirt. Prices are to rise after Oct. 15. Jump tickets are available separately.
