· Kendale Lakes Park Dedicates New Walkway Lights Wednesday, September 10
MIAMI (September 10, 2003) - Join Miami-Dade County Commissioner Joe A. Martinez, District 11 and the Miami-Dade Park and Recreation Department at 7 p.m., Wednesday, September 10 for the dedication of the new walkway lights at Kendale Lakes Park, 7850 SW 142 Ave., Miami.

A total of 14 new light poles were added along walking paths at the southeast corner of the park, adjacent to Kendale Lake Elementary School. The Quality Neighborhood Improvement Program (QNIP) funded this project at a cost of $26,000.

"This park is heavily used by exercise walkers," said Commissioner Martinez. "And the new walkway lights will also certainly provide a needed service to residents who enjoy their evening strolls."

The 15.69-acre park, which is jointly shared by Miami-Dade Parks and Miami-Dade County Public Schools, features a recreation center, a playground, an open field, two tennis courts, two basketball courts, eight handball/racquetball courts, a perimeter fence and parking.

For directions to the event, please call Kendale Lakes Park at 305-385-4750.
