· delta.com Booking Feature Provides New Options for SkyMiles Members
Customers Now May Purchase Tickets Based On Desired Fare Type

ATLANTA (September 22, 2003) - Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) has added a booking feature to delta.com that enables customers to purchase tickets based on fare type. This new booking tool allows customers to view itineraries based on their preferred fare class and the corresponding Medallion Qualification Miles earned for completed travel. This new feature also allows Delta customers to select fares that are refundable and/or eligible for an upgrade with 500-mile upgrade points.

Previously, customers were limited to searching for flight availability at delta.com based only on the lowest available fare within the First Class, BusinessElite or Coach cabins.

"In addition to providing more flexibility for all delta.com customers, this new online feature will enable SkyMiles members to select flights based on the level of Medallion Qualification Miles they desire," said Steve Scheper, managing director, Online Sales and Services.

The ability to choose specific fares online further expands offerings available to SkyMiles members at delta.com, which gives customers greater control of the travel experience with flight research and booking capabilities, as well as critical travel information and services. At delta.com SkyMiles members also can book Award Travel, view account balance, sign up to receive statements via e-mail and check-in for their flights up to 24 hours before departure.

This online feature complements the new SkyMiles upgrade policy announced earlier today as well as the Medallion qualification system announced last December. Effective Jan. 1, 2004, Platinum Medallion members will receive unlimited, complimentary 500-mile upgrades at time of booking when purchasing Y, B and M economy fare class tickets, and Gold Medallion and Silver Medallion members will receive unlimited, complimentary 500-mile upgrades when purchasing Y and B economy fare class tickets. The new qualification system rewards members for fares purchased as well as distance traveled and allows members purchasing higher fares to reach elite levels quicker than before. Previously, the elite program was based solely on flight frequency and miles traveled.

The ability to earn and accumulate SkyMiles for Award Travel through eligible flights or partnership activity has not changed. On all eligible fares, members continue to earn a minimum of 500 miles per flight that may be applied toward Award Travel and upgrade awards.

Delta SkyMiles members earn miles by flying Delta, Song, Delta Express, Delta Shuttle, Delta Connection, Delta AirElite and Delta's worldwide partners, including the airline's SkyTeam partners. The program offers additional mileage-building opportunities through SkyMiles partners such as the Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card from American Express, AT&T telecommunication services, EarthLink™ Internet services, T-Mobile Hotspot wireless internet services, participating hotels, car rental companies, restaurants, floral purchases and financial, mortgage and realty services.

Delta Air Lines, the world's second largest airline in terms of passengers carried and the leading U.S. carrier across the Atlantic, offers 5,813 flights each day to 447 destinations in 81 countries on Delta, Song, Delta Express, Delta Shuttle, Delta Connection and Delta's worldwide partners. Delta is a founding member of SkyTeam, a global airline alliance that provides customers with extensive worldwide destinations, flights and services. For more information, please go to delta.com.
