· Wimco Increases Caribbean Villa Inventory By 10 Percent In Anticipation Of Strong, Upcoming Season NEWPORT, R.I. (August 2003) What's hot in the Caribbean when things cool down up north?
For starters, 80 villas have been added to its 800+ villa inventory on 12 Caribbean islands, reports destination specialist Wimco, the Newport, RI, and London-based luxury vacation villa and hotel reservations company. Wimco has had its best-ever summer in the Caribbean, so we're thrilled to have 10 percent more villa inventory available for the upcoming fall and winter, says Janis Gordon, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Gordon also notes that the Caribbean has recently become more accessible to the West Coast because American Airlines has added direct flights from Los Angeles to Puerto Rico, the Caribbean's primary hub. Also, the island of Nevis has expanded its runway and can now take American Eagle flights from Puerto Rico. Noteworthy additions to the overall Wimco villa inventory include three ultra modern, designer villas on St. Barts where weekly villa rentals start at $7,000 (up to Dec. 15).
