· Carlo IV in Prague Joins Boscolo Luxury Hotels
NEW YORK, NY (August 8, 2003) Boscolo Hotels, a family owned company with 17 hotels in Italy and France, has announced the addition of Carlo IV in Prague, Czech Republic to its fast-growing portfolio of hotels. Carlo IV, a five-star deluxe hotel located in the heart of the city, joins the prestigious Boscolo Luxury Hotels, alongside Exedra and Aleph in Rome, Italy, both of which opened in the last 9 months.

The majestic structure, formerly a bank and latter a post office, was designed by Maurizio Papiri, renowned for his work for Ciga Hotels and Adam D. Tihany, famous hospitality designer of Le Circque 2000 in New York City. Throughout the construction, great care was taken to preserve and accentuate the best elements of the original Neo-Renaissance character of the structure such as soaring gold vaulted ceilings dating back to the 19th century while adding luxurious and contemporary features.

"Together with our other luxury hotels including Exedra in Rome and Dei Dogi in Venice, Carlo IV honors its history and tradition with a modern interpretation of luxury. The opening of this masterpiece hotel is another significant step for Boscolo Hotels in leveraging our brand further in major European cities" said Giorgio Boscolo, President of Boscolo Hotels.

The hotel's 150 luxurious guest rooms are defined by a generous sense of comfort, space and warmth and are a rich blend of contemporary design, technology, tradition and heritage. Each of the rooms and suites features designer bathrooms, air-conditioning, direct line telephones with voicemail and data ports, fax and computer outlets, cable including CNN, as well as mini-bar, safe and express check in and check out.

With sweeping views of the historical centre and the park, the Presidential Suite features two spacious rooms, a master bedroom and a bathroom with a whirlpool, and is adorned with original painted ceilings.

The prices per room will range between EUR 260 for a Classic room up to EUR 2,650 for the Presidential Suite. "We are aiming to attract leisure travelers and busy executives from the US who desire to explore this fascinating city whilst enjoying ultimate in luxury and comfort," said Gabriela Horakova, General Manager of Carlo IV.

The hotel's lobby and public areas have been extended and designed by the talented designer Adam Tihany and feature the stylish Box Block restaurant, offering international cuisine in an elegant setting, Inn Ox bar, and the Cigar bar.

"The addition of Carlo IV is consistent with our goal of rapid expansion into selected new global markets. We are delighted to have possibly the most magnificent five star hotel in Prague and one which truly lives up to its luxury billing'', said Phillip Haller, Vice President of Sales for Boscolo Hotels.

For the business traveler, the hotel offers meeting and conference facilities of all sizes. The six meeting rooms cater for groups of 10 to 400 persons and are equipped with the latest amenities. A fully equipped business center is open and ready to assist at business hours every day. All the meeting and conference rooms are accessible through a separate entrance at the side of the hotel.

Ideally located in the heart of Prague, Carlo IV is steps away from Hlavni Nadrazi, the central railway station and walking distance to Vaclavske Namesti, the main square and Staromestske Namesti, the historical square. To make reservations, email: reservation@carloIV.boscolo.com.
