· Outrigger Kiahuna Plantation continues Its Full-Service Upgrades With The Opening Of The New Kiahuna Swim And Tennis Club POIPU, HI (September 16, 2003) - Guests of the Outrigger Kiahuna Plantation on the island of Kauai are now enjoying the amenities of a full-service resort condominium with the opening of the newly developed Kiahuna Swim and Tennis Club.
The club boasts an 82,000-gallon pool with a waterslide and sand bottom children's area, and a 1,600-gallon spa that features 10 hydrotherapy jets and submerged bench seating. The Activity Hut provides pool towels, island information and sun products for sale. There are also 10 tennis courts and a Tennis Shop, where guests can arrange for tennis lessons, racquet rentals, arrange for partners and sign up for organized activities. Tennis apparel is also on sale at the shop. After a game of tennis or swimming at the pool, guests can stroll over to the newly opened CasaBlanca at Kiahuna Restaurant, also located at the club. Overlooking the tennis courts and gardens, the restaurant combines a casual and elegant atmosphere with open-air seating and a sleek granite bar. The restaurant features healthy fare with Mediterranean and American influences. Dishes already proving popular include the Spanish Lobster Ensalada, Moroccan Chicken Crepe and Casablanca Burger. The restaurant is currently open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, with breakfast served from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and lunch from11: 30 a.m.-3 p.m. A bar menu with a selection of appetizer choices is also available. A full dinner menu is planned for later this fall, along with the addition of an "In Room" meal delivery service. The club is complimentary to Outrigger guests, who also have charging privileges at the Tennis Shop, Activity Hut and the Casablanca at Kiahuna Restaurant. Hours of operation for the pool and Activity Hut are from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The waterslide and children's area are open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Tennis Courts are available to guests from dawn to dusk, with the Tennis Shop open from 8:00 a.m. to Noon and 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Continuing the Outrigger Kiahuna Plantation's expansion of full resort offerings, a new health spa, located on the front five acres of the club site, is in the final planning stages, with a potential opening in late 2004. The 35-acre Outrigger Kiahuna Plantation enjoys a lovely beachfront setting in sunny Poipu on the island of Kauai. The property is beautifully landscaped with tropical plantings and foliage, including an extensive collection of native Hawaiian plants, an orchid garden and extensive cactus garden. Many relaxing water features are scattered throughout the property. The Outrigger Kiahuna Plantation offers its guests one- and two-bedroom condominium suites that are tastefully furnished, each with living and dining area, complete kitchen and private lanai.
