MERIDA, Mexico (August 7, 2003) - Hacienda Xcanatun (ssh-kana-toon), a former 18th century henequen hacienda re-created today as the Yucatan's newest small luxury hotel, has launched two new customized programs: All Things Maya and A Flamingo Eco-Adventure. Late in the day, visit a traditional Maya home in the village of Santa Elena to learn about herbal medicine, open-fire cooking, etc.

Another day, select a holistic Maya Honey and Flowers Massage or an Aromatherapy Massage performed by the hacienda's Maya therapist, schooled by her grandfather, a shaman. Massages are available in-suite, at Xcanatun's jade-toned spa or in the hacienda's Maya garden palapa.
