· The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay Offers A Wonderful Winter Golf Getaway Package HALF MOON BAY, Calif. (August 19, 2003) - "It ends with a dramatic 18th, a cliff-hugging 413-yard par 4 playing south along the Pacific, finishing beneath the magnificent Ritz-Carlton Hotel." That is how BusinessWeek magazine recently described one of Half Moon Bay Golf Links's two championship courses when it named the property as one of the nation's "18 Great Country Clubs for a Day."
Now golfers can take advantage of a value-laden package at this unmatched California coastal destination as The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay and Half Moon Bay Golf Links have partnered to offer a "Winter Golf Getaway." The package includes one-night deluxe accommodations and two rounds of golf on either the aforementioned Ocean Course or the Old Course for only $429 per night. Located just 30 miles south of San Francisco along California's scenic Highway One, The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay is a 261-room oceanfront golf and spa resort situated on scenic bluffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean. A majority of the guestrooms feature panoramic ocean views and many include a fireplace, built-in window seat or outdoor terrace. Some rooms feature added golf amenities, such as putters for practice in the suites, telescopes in the guesthouse for eyeing the perfect shot, and a variety of golf balls in every Honor Bar. The appropriately named Ocean Course was designed by Arthur Hills in the tradition of Scotland's finest "links" courses. This 6,700-yard, par-72 layout offers ocean views from all 18 holes and has received widespread recognition since its opening in 1997. "When fog and mist roll inland," writes BusinessWeek, "the Ocean Course is transformed into northern Scotland." The Old Course, formerly known as the Links Course, was originally designed by Francis Duane and Arnold Palmer in 1973 and was redesigned by Hills in 2000. The winter golf getaway is based on single or double occupancy, availability and exclusive of parking and taxes.
