· The Mount Washington Hotel & Resort Celebrates Fine Art And Music Aug. 24-Sept. 1 BRETTON WOODS, N.H. (August 18, 2003) - Live musical performances will serve as the soundtrack to the joys of gracious living, fine art, and the reunion of the Brettonian singers at The Mount Washington Hotel & Resort August 24 through September 1. This celebration of art and music will include a festival of fine works by local artists and craftsmen and a special exhibition of White Mountain Art, featuring the works of Benjamin Champney and other noted artists.
Musical performances will feature the Bretton Woods Chamber Music Festival Players led by David Latulippe, the third annual Helen and Walter Shields Memorial Concert with retired Mount Washington Orchestra Director Fred Petra, and the Brettonians, a reunion of singing waiters and waitresses who worked in the hotel's dining room during the 1970s and 1980s. Highlighting The Mount Washington Hotel's own talents, the McClenathan Brothers and The Mount Washington Orchestra will, as always, offer nightly entertainment. Between performances, art and music aficionados may enjoy all the recreational activities offered by the resort. Visitors may choose golf, tennis, swimming, horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking, fly-fishing, or just relaxing on the veranda with a good book and a refreshing beverage. The Art Festival and all musical performances are open to the public on a complimentary basis. Dinner performances are available only to guests and visitors with dinner reservations.
