· Delta Air Logistics Wins "Quest for Quality" Award Logistics Management magazine recognizes quality of Delta's Cargo OperationsATLANTA (August 19, 2003) - Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) today announced that its cargo division, Delta Air Logistics, has won a Quest for Quality Award from Logistics Management magazine. The award was based on a survey of 20,000 shippers who subscribe to Logistics Management. Readers chose Delta Air Logistics for its excellent performance in five key attributes - on-time performance, value, information technology, customer service and equipment/operations. Logistics Management has conducted the most comprehensive customer perception study in the industry for 20 years. "We take customer service, quality and reliability very seriously," said Tony Charaf, senior vice president-Delta Air Logistics. "This award validates the hard work we have done to make sure our service is consistently excellent, and this is a credit to our organization. We could not have won this award without our people, who truly lift Delta worldwide every single day." Delta Air Logistics is a key contributor to Delta's bottom line. Year-to-date cargo revenues as of June 30, 2003 have grown 3.2 percent versus last year. Although known for passenger service, Delta also is a leading U.S. cargo carrier, serving a large community of forwarders, importers, exporters and other shippers with products specifically designed for their needs. Offerings include everything from express services like DASH and Equation to customized solutions for high-value products. The division is building on its successes and working to serve its customers better through a number of initiatives. Delta Air Logistics is investing in e-commerce through its Web site, www.deltacargo.com, and through its participation in Global Freight Exchange, a neutral, multi-airline booking platform. Delta Air Logistics is seeing an increasing percentage of its bookings through these electronic channels. In addition, Delta Air Logistics is building a worldwide network for customers through its membership in SkyTeam Cargo, an alliance that also includes Aeromexico, Air France, Alitalia, CSA Czech Airlines and Korean Air. Under the umbrella of the alliance, Air France, Delta and Korean Air have joined together to create a common sales force to market exit-United States international freight in the U.S. Sales Joint Venture.
