· Sofitel Chicago Water Tower Offers Petit Perfection With Gourmet Mini-Desserts
CHICAGO (August 2003) Sofitel Chicago Water Tower's Café des Architectes, located at 20 E. Chestnut St., tempts the sweet tooth with Executive Chef Frederic Castan's mini-desserts of petit perfection. These gourmet, one-bite wonders feature succulent samplings of exquisite French delicacies in guiltless, craving-sized portions for just $1. A trifle of a truffle, a sliver of a soufflé, little bites with big tastes are offered until 5 p.m., along with an assortment of specialty coffee and espresso sippers at the beautiful indoor/outdoor Café des Architectes.

Each day, a fresh mélange of treats is whipped, baked and puffed to perfection, including: vanilla creme brulee topped with passion fruit coulis; a refreshing raspberry ganache with a tangy key lime twist; the extravagant Floating Island featuring a vanilla creme anglais topped with poached egg white caramel sauce; and chilled fresh fruit soup that highlights an assortment of exotic fruits served in a light citrus orange juice. The café also offers traditional favorites including a miniature cheesecake topped with fresh strawberries and a hazelnut treat dipped in chocolate sauce.

Celebrating his French roots, Chef Castan's venerable expertise can be tasted in every bite of his dainty desserts. His exquisite breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner menus also celebrate the art of French cuisine with a creative fusing of classic flavors and contemporary flair. Full menus are available daily at Café des Architectes.
