· Delta Connection Marks Decade Since Comair Regional Jets Opened New World of Travel for Des Moines, Iowa, Customers
Nonstop jet service to Delta's second-largest hub offers customers frequent flights, convenience

DES MOINES, Iowa - Delta Connection carrier Comair opened a new world of travel opportunity for Des Moines, Iowa, customers 10 years ago today by introducing regional jet service and linking central Iowa to Delta's second largest hub at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. Comair initiated Des Moines' first Delta service with three daily nonstop flights on July 1, 1993, the same year the airline introduced Bombardier CRJ regional jets to North America.

"The speed and range of regional jets allowed Des Moines travelers to join a long list of communities that now enjoy direct jet access to Delta's vast system of domestic and international flights," said Fred Buttrell, president and chief executive officer, Delta Connection, Inc. "Along with the other aviation professionals who work throughout the Delta system, our Comair team in Des Moines focuses on offering customers multiple flight selections, convenient connections and reliable, courteous service."

Since those first three regional jet flights from Des Moines International Airport a decade ago, nonstop jet service on Delta Connection has expanded for customers throughout the central Iowa region. Today, Comair operates five daily round-trip flights between Des Moines and Delta's Cincinnati hub and three round-trip flights to Delta's hub at Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport.

Customers traveling through Delta's hub in Cincinnati may choose from more than 556 daily departures to 124 non-stop domestic and international destinations. Customers at Delta's Atlanta hub have a selection of more than 880 daily departures to 183 non-stop domestic and international destinations."

Known for its convenience, comfort and speed, the CRJ carries passengers in a two-by-two seating arrangement; every seat is an aisle or window, with no middle seats. The plane can cruise at a speed of 530 mph at altitudes as high as 41,000 feet, and is recognized as the quietest commercial jet aircraft in the world.

Delta Connection carriers include Delta's wholly owned subsidiaries Atlantic Southeast Airlines and Comair, additional regional carriers Atlantic Coast Airlines, Chautauqua Airlines and SkyWest Airlines, and codeshare partner American Eagle (in California). Delta Connection carriers operate more than 350 regional jets throughout North America. For more information, please contact Delta Reservations, 1-800-221-1212, or visit delta.com.
