· Delta Connection Launches Nonstop Service between Detroit and Dallas-Fort Worth DETROIT - Delta Connection now offers customers twice-daily nonstop jet service between Detroit and Dallas/Fort Worth, operated by Delta connection carrier Atlantic Southeast Airlines.
"Further expansion of our Dallas/Fort Worth network offers customers even greater opportunities to meet their travel needs," said Fred Buttrell, president and chief executive officer, Delta Connection, Inc. "With this new service, Detroit customers connecting at Dallas/Fort Worth will have access to more than 255 Delta (NYSE: DAL) and Delta Connection flights serving 74 destinations." The new service that started today is operated with the Bombardier CRJ regional jet. Known for its convenience, comfort and speed, the CRJ carries passengers in a two-by-two seating arrangement; every seat is an aisle or window, with no middle seats. The plane can cruise at a speed of 530 mph at altitudes as high as 41,000 feet and is recognized as the quietest commercial jet aircraft in the world. Delta Connection carriers include Delta's wholly owned subsidiaries Atlantic Southeast Airlines and Comair, additional regional carriers Atlantic Coast Airlines, Chautauqua Airlines and SkyWest Airlines, and codeshare partner American Eagle (in California).
