· Alaskaair.Com-Horizonair.Com Enhance Customer Convenience With Online Ticket Reissues SEATTLE - Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air customers can now change reservations and have tickets reissued online.
The new alaskaair.com and horizonair.com feature allows customers to change flights or city pairs, as well as canceling all or part of a reservation. Customers can also take care of any change fees and differences in fare - all without having to call a reservations sales center or a travel agent. "Our customers told us they want the convenience of changing reservations online," said Steve Jarvis, Alaska's staff vice president of e-commerce and distribution. "We listened to them and developed the capability. Online reissues will save time for passengers, and will save the airlines more than $1 million annually." There are some restrictions as to the type of tickets that can be reissued online, including those for international travel, travel that has already begun and itineraries that contain more than two flight numbers. To change a reservation or for additional information, go to alaskaair.com or horizonair.com, click on the "air, car & hotel" tab and then on "view/change a reservation." At alaskaair.com and horizonair.com customers could already select seats, add Mileage Plan numbers, check weather and the status of flights, and check in for flights up to 30 hours before departure. Alaskaair.com and horizonair.com made history in 1995 when Alaska and Horizon became the first North American carriers to sell tickets online and again in 1999 when they became the first carrier in the world to allow customers to check in for flights online via the Internet. Alaska was named 2003 Technology Leader of the Year by Air Transport World magazine and received the Airline Strategy Award for Technology from Airline Business Magazine. Together Alaska and Horizon serve 85 cities in Alaska, the Lower 48, Canada and Mexico.
