· Delta Connection Increases Service to Five Cities from Atlanta Service Options Expand for Customers in Akron-Canton, Buffalo, Rochester, Pensacola and WichitaATLANTA (July 17, 2003) - Delta Connection will offer customers additional jet service between Delta Air Lines' (NYSE: DAL) Atlanta hub and Akron-Canton, Ohio; Buffalo and Rochester, N.Y.; Pensacola, Fla., and Wichita, Kan., beginning Sept. 1, 2003. With the new schedule, Delta Connection carrier Comair will begin operating one additional round-trip flight each between Atlanta and Buffalo, Rochester, Akron-Canton and Wichita. Delta Connection carrier ASA will operate one additional round-trip flight between Atlanta and Pensacola. All of the additional flights will be operated with the popular Bombardier CRJ regional jets. The new service expands the number of daily round-trip flights between Atlanta and Akron-Canton to six, eight to Buffalo, seven to Rochester, nine to Pensacola and five to Wichita. "Flight frequency and a convenient schedule are top priorities for our customers," said Fred Buttrell, president and chief executive officer, Delta Connection, Inc. "Expanded service for these five communities provides customers greater opportunities to connect to the more than 900 flights operated by Delta and Delta Connection each day at Delta's Hartsfield Atlanta hub." Known for its convenience, comfort and speed, the CRJ carries passengers in a two-by-two seating arrangement; every seat is an aisle or window, with no middle seats. The plane can cruise at a speed of 530 mph at altitudes as high as 41,000 feet and is recognized as the quietest commercial jet aircraft in the world. Delta Connection carriers include Delta's wholly owned subsidiaries Atlantic Southeast Airlines and Comair, additional regional carriers Atlantic Coast Airlines, Chautauqua Airlines and SkyWest Airlines, and codeshare partner American Eagle (in California).
