· Delta Offers $198 Introductory Fare for New Delta Connection Service
between Jacksonville, Fla., and New York JFK Delta Connection also increasing service between Jacksonville and CincinnatiNEW YORK (July 14, 2003) - Delta Connection is offering customers new nonstop jet service between New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport and Jacksonville, Fla., effective Sept. 15, 2003. Delta Connection carrier Comair, a wholly owned subsidiary of Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL), will operate the service with Bombardier CRJ regional jets. To celebrate the new twice-daily, round-trip Delta Connection jet service, Delta is offering a special $198 round-trip fare between New York JFK and Jacksonville. The special fare is offered for travel from Sept. 15 through Oct. 15, 2003. Tickets must be purchased by Aug. 8, 2003. See below for other important restrictions. Delta Connection carrier Comair also will operate one additional round-trip jet flight between Jacksonville and Cincinnati effective Sept. 15, for a total of five Delta and Delta Connection flights between the two cities. "Nonstop service between Jacksonville and New York JFK will be convenient for business and leisure travelers," said Fred Buttrell, president and chief executive officer, Delta Connection, Inc. "These flights will provide easy access for New York customers traveling to northeast Florida, and a convenient connection to New York City's international gateway at JFK and the many worldwide destinations that airport offers." Known for its convenience, comfort and speed, the CRJ carries passengers in a two-by-two seating arrangement; every seat is an aisle or window, with no middle seats. The plane can cruise at a speed of 530 mph at altitudes as high as 41,000 feet, and is recognized as the quietest commercial jet aircraft in the world. Delta Connection carriers include Delta's wholly owned subsidiaries Atlantic Southeast Airlines and Comair, additional regional carriers Atlantic Coast Airlines, Chautauqua Airlines and SkyWest Airlines, and codeshare partner American Eagle (in California).
