· N C V Escorted Vacations Has Departures Until September 15 Of Three 13- To 18-day Itineraries Using New Millennium Ships; Aarp Savings Of Up To $150 Available NEW YORK - NCV Escorted Vacations, the air-inclusive cruise-tour division of Norwegian Coastal Voyage launched in 2002, has monthly departures of three 13- to 18-day Norway itineraries through September 15 on each of the three new Millennium ships. An AARP year-round discount of $100 to $150 per cabin is available. NCV senior savings of $95 to $170 per guest for those 67 and older are offered on the four sailings after August 15 and can be combined with the AARP discount.
The 674-berth, 15,000-ton MS Midnatsol, which made her maiden voyage April 15, 2003, joined the 643-berth Finnmarken and the 674-berth Trollfjord, launched in April and May 2002, respectively. The Finnmarken,s Art-Nouveau style contrasts with the modern design and large expanses of glass for panoramic viewing on the Trollfjord and Midnatsol. All three ships boast art galleries exhibiting Norwegian paintings, sculpture and textiles. The itineraries unite a one-way or round-trip sailing along the spectacular 1,250-mile west coast of Norway with air on SAS from New York, intra-regional flight, first-class hotels, most meals, transfers and sightseeing in Lapland and/or the fjords. An alternative to a traditional cruise, each NCV vessel is a combination first-class cruise liner and working ship carrying local passengers and cargo to 34 ports between Bergen and Kirkenes. Tour choices are the 13-day "Norway Naturally," with a six-day southbound sailing from Kirkenes, at $4,030 to $4,930 per person double; 15-day "Spectacular Norway," with a seven-day northbound cruise from Bergen, at $4,420 to $5,430; and 18-day "Norway Splendor," with a 12-day round-trip voyage, at $4,430 to $5,825. Each features the Viking Ships Museum in Oslo, Hanseatic Museum in Bergen and scenery of the Hardangerfjord. Fares are determined by the cabin category and dates selected.
