· Hueston Woods State Park Resort To Offer Post- Holiday Fireworks Display And Sunday-night Lodging Deal
COLLEGE CORNER, Ohio - The public is invited to a free community party and fireworks program at the Hueston Woods State Park on Sunday, July 6. For guests who wish to extend the long Fourth of July weekend, the Hueston Woods State Park Resort also will feature a Sunday-night lodging special, called the "Thunder Sunday" package.

The party will begin at 4 p.m. and will include a remote broadcast by Z-93 FM radio, all-day children's activities, a presentation by a park naturalist and evening bonfire. The firework program will begin at dusk and are co-sponsored by Hueston Woods Resort and Butler Rural Electric Cooperative, Inc. Food and beverages will be available for purchase throughout the day. No coolers will be permitted. Guests are urged to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets.

The package includes one night of lodging, breakfast for two in the Trailblazer Dining room, and an all-day party on the lawn concluding with a fireworks display over Acton Lake. Guests can watch the fireworks from their private balconies. The package is priced at $109 for lakeview rooms and $99 for non-lakeview rooms. The price does not include tax.

"There's no question that the staff of Hueston Woods likes to get into the spirit of things, and the long weekend idea was overwhelmingly popular," said Tom Arvan, general manager. "By Sunday night, the backyard barbecues will be over, and we're guessing visitors might be ready to sit back and enjoy food and a program organized by someone else."

Arvan said the resort will periodically offer Sunday-night specials throughout the year, and travelers should visit www.atapark.com or www.hwresort.com for news and updates.
