· Guthrie Castle Opens Doors To The Public For First Time In 535 Years
ANGUS, Scotland (November 21, 2003) - It's been described as the ultimate and toughest golf course in Scotland with a truly story book ambiance by publications such as Golf Monthly and Scottishgolf.com, and in November, Guthrie Castle opened its doors to the public for the first time in its history.

BBC, Grampian TV, The Scotsman and Scotland on Sunday, amongst others, have done Guthrie Castle features. The British press and media have been generous with its praise:

"Are you ready for Scotland's Ultimate Golf Test? Enjoy it for what it is and you'll have a fabulous time in a beautiful setting" - Scottishgolf.com

"One of Scotland's hidden architectural gems...a fairytale castle." - The Scotsman

"The Great Escape, Guthrie Castle...Magnificent...Once inside the Castle and its grounds you may never want to leave. You would be hard pushed to find a more atmospheric setting. It's an exceptional, once in a lifetime experience that can't be beaten." - Scotland on Sunday (Spectrum)

Many individual golf outings are looking for a different central venue to play the wonderful courses in and around Angus. Now there is a new truly unique 5 star venue to facilitate such an outing that also has a great golf challenge. Guthrie Castle's manicured 156 acres is in the middle of Angus and centrally located between Carnoustie and St Andrews.

"I am proud to make its wonderful golf course and 5 star spectacular facilities open to the public," said Guthrie Castle owner Dan Pena.

Please take the time to view the site www.guthriecastle.com and the testimonials/ comments - you won't be disappointed.

During October 2003, Guthrie Castle Golf Course in conjunction with Radio Tay sponsored the "Absolute Ultimate Golf Challenge" for "Caring for Kids". Gary Hay of Dundee, Scotland, International and Walker Cup player won the championship by 2 shots with 3 over par.

Guthrie Castle and its Golf Course are open to the public by reservation.
