· Delta's SkyWish Program Partners With The March Of Dimes SkyMiles Members Can Donate Miles To Help Reduce Premature BirthsATLANTA (October 1, 2003) - Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) has designated the March of Dimes as the SkyWish Charity of the Quarter for the fourth quarter of 2003. SkyMiles members can contribute miles to combat serious health problems that infants face, such as prematurity, birth defects and low birthweight. "Delta is proud to support the March of Dimes and the valuable education services they provide throughout the country," said Rob Borden, Delta's SkyMiles program director. "We hope SkyMiles members will help us contribute to this noble organization." "We appreciate the support from Delta Air Lines and its SkyMiles members," said George McKerrow, Georgia March of Dimes chairman of the board. "Mileage contributions will allow March of Dimes researchers, volunteers, educators, outreach workers and advocates to work together on our prematurity campaign, which is a five-year drive to raise public awareness, increase research efforts and reduce rates of preterm birth." SkyMiles members may donate miles to the March of Dimes via SkyWish through Dec. 31, 2003. There is a 5,000-mile minimum donation, and Delta will boost each donation by adding 1,000 miles for every 5,000 miles contributed. The March of Dimes' Prematurity Campaign will invest $75 million to support research for the causes and treatment of prematurity, which is the leading cause of neonatal death (within the first month of life) in the United States. Donations can be made via e-mail at delta.bids@delta.com, by calling 800-325-3999 or via fax at 404-773-1945. SkyMiles members should include their SkyMiles account number, the amount of miles to be donated and note The March of Dimes as their charity of choice. SkyWish donations are not tax deductible for Delta Air Lines or SkyMiles members. The March of Dimes is a national voluntary health agency whose mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects and infant mortality. Founded in 1938 by President Franklin Roosevelt, the March of Dimes funds programs of research, community services, education and advocacy to save babies and in 2003 launched a campaign to address the increasing rate of premature birth.
