Sweet Summer's End At Cheeca Lodge & Spa Family-friendly Florida Keys resort hosts Labor Day celebration
ISLAMORADA, Florida Keys - August 11, 2008 - At Cheeca Lodge & Spa Labor Day is not just another holiday. It is the season finale and the resort is encouraging guests to celebrate their day off on the beach with family and friends with a "Labor of Love" from the Cheeca culinary team. Cheeca will host the "Sweet Summer's End" party on Sunday, August 31, 2008. As the day turns to night, they will build a beachside bonfire and the Sunshine Band will lead everyone in a family sing-along. Kids will make their own s'mores, while parents enjoy great conversation and balmy ocean breezes. What a terrific way to say goodbye to summer!
"We encourage guests to relax and have fun while at Cheeca. This holiday recognizes that everyone should enjoy time off with the people they care about," says Tyler Walters, general manager of Cheeca Lodge & Spa. "On Labor Day, Cheeca will provide the party - all our guests have to bring is their appetite and a smile." The event will be held from 6:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. and will feature a dinner buffet, a fire pit with s'mores, live music and a family sing-a-long. The Sunshine Band will perform on the beach throughout the evening and there will be a "Dive in" Movie from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. Each party will be welcomed with a bucket of steamed peel-and-eat shrimp to kick off the festivities. Guests will then feast upon many other gourmet buffet items with menu highlights including a steak and fish grill, corn shucking station and potato bar. Other buffet stations will feature a roast chicken carvery, Caesar salad station, vanilla ice cream make-your-own sundae bar, homemade bread puddings and fresh fruit for dessert. The cost for the "Sweet Summer's End" party will be $39.95 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Children 6 to 12 will be $19.95, plus tax and gratuity.
