Travel Alternative: Small Private Jets

You can stand in line with all the other air travelers, or you can be treated to the same luxury, hospitality and efficiency enjoyed by corporate honchos, entertainment glitterati and the super rich. Without having to buy your own private jet.

It’s Delta Air Lines’ AirElite service, an on-demand program that includes a Fleet Membership option based on predetermined usage of flight time, sort of like a debit card for private jet transportation. Or you can also call 877-DAE-JETS (877-323-5387) and charter an “on demand” flight to meet your needs.

An AirElite jet can be ready when you want it, even at dawn.

Fleet Membership gives customers the ultimate choice. They simply choose the number of hours they wish to fly (10, 25, or 50 occupied hours) in either a light, midsize, or large cabin category. Members also benefit from Delta AirElite's exclusive Efficiency Bonus rewards program which lets Members fly more hours than actually purchased-up to 35% more flying time. As a wholly-owned subsidiary of Delta Air Lines, Fleet Membership also offers customers instant Medallion® status in the Delta Air Lines SkyMiles program.

Delta AirElite has added another Learjet 45 to its fleet, continuing to expand their number of charter aircraft (currently around 400) in response to increased customer demand. The Bombardier Learjet 45 offers one of the most comfortable cabins in its class, with spacious seating for up to eight passengers. With a range of 2,200 statute miles at speeds up to 534 mph, it’s a good choice for a variety of trips. This late-model aircraft will be based in Tulsa, OK, and will serve both Fleet Members and charter customers. It will become part of a diverse fleet of Bombardier, Challenger, Learjet, Gulfstream, Hawker and Cessna aircraft, one of the largest, most diverse fleets of well-appointed, late-model business jets in the industry. Just last October, the company added two new Learjet 45XRs and a Citation CJ2 to its operating certificate.
