Visiting Canies to The Outer Banks of North Carolina enjoy Yappy Hour of their own

Canine cocktail hour open to all canines and their humans!

Duck, NC (July 12, 2007) It's 5:00 somewhere! Not just for humans, but for canines, as well. Perhaps the longest running dog event on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, YAPPY HOUR at the Outer Barks in Duck, NC provides a weekly opportunity for canines and their human escorts to gather and enjoy each other's company, make new friends and enjoy Doggie Daiquiris, Muttguaritas and homemade Arf D'Oeuvres.

Every week, beginning in March and ending the week of Thanksgiving, the Outer Barks located in the Scarborough Lane Shoppes in Duck, hosts their (now world-famous) Yappy Hour for the local and visiting community. Kevin Carey, co-owner of the Outer Barks says, "Yappy Hour provides humans and their canine furkids the opportunity to mingle, enjoy some wonderful treats and most importantly, celebrate the very special human/canine bond."

Each week, the shaded, great lawn behind Scarborough Lane Shoppes is transformed into a Doghaven complete with agility equipment, beach music, a baby pool with fun float toys (including Henrietta the floating chicken) and an art studio for creating canine works of art. Canines attending Yappy Hour have an opportunity to create a one-of-a-kind "Pawcasso" or paw painting for their humans to take home as a memento of their unforgettable experience.

The buffet table offers homemade delectables such as Turkey Frittata, a Ginger Applesauce Bone Cake, Blueberry Muffins, Italian Meatballs and more. And all these goodies are washed down with a Doggie Daiquiri or Muttguarita. As Qui Qui (a 10 year old Pekingese who's attended more than 20 Yappy Hours says, "it doesn't get much better than this". New friendships are made and even a few romances bloom. John and Irina Temple, with their 9 year old Black Lab Troi say, "Yappy Hour is

the most memorable part of our vacation on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Troi has a blast and we get to spend time with fellow dog-lovers. It makes for a great memory!"

While the day of the week and time changes based on the season, Yappy Hour is open to all canines and their humans and you don't want to miss this canine cocktail hour! The Outer Barks always posts its Yappy Hour schedule for the week and provides the information on their answering, as well. There is no cost involved to attend Yappy Hour but a donation box is always out for one of the many good causes supported by the Outer Barks. Dogs must be leashed and no dogs are permitted to drive if attending Yappy Hour!
